Tile c1880
One of a series of tiles Designed by William Wise (1847-1889) for Minton. This tile features a young woman seated under a tree, reading and is printed in a subtle shade of green. Backstamp: Mintons China Works Stoke on Trent Mintons Stoke Upon Trent Walbrook London. Light all over crazing with just a hint of discolouration and a little pitting to the back rim. There are some remnants of adhesive on the back.
