Crazed with a little light discolouration, three hairlines to the rim, some wear to the outer rim and some surface scratching. Sounds much worse than it looks, this is a fabulous dish.

Light all over crazing with a little minor discolouration to the stilt marks and a little minor wear and discolouration to the outer rim and on the back. Sounds much worse than it looks, this is really lovely.

Oh great joy to find a platter complete with drainer!
Backstamp: Italian Scenery on dish.
Both pieces are crazed. The dish also has a hairline to the rim and a little minor light discolouration. The drainer has a small hairline to the rim. Overall in good condition and sound much worse than they look!

Comport with Cover c1845
Made by John Meir & Son of Greengates Pottery, Tunstall active 1837 to 1897 this footed comport or rather grand covered vegetable dish is decorated with their popular Italian Scenery pattern, printed in a soft pale blue with just a tiny hint of mauve. A subtle blue that Meir seemed to reserve for this pattern. This is a good size and boldly executed.
Backstamp: bold blue printed cartouche with Italian Scenery and the initials I.M&S. beneath.
The base has a couple of glaze blemishes on the outside and another on the border and they have taken up a little browning. Along the rim of the cover there is similar pitting in the glaze, which has browned with use. All really minor and with the cover in place it looks the perfect display piece.

Large stand with lovely moulded side handle.
Backstamp: Italian Scenery.
Crazed with a hairline to the rim, a little loss of glaze to the stilt marks and just a hint of discolouration, to the face.

Sauce Tureen c1845
Very pretty set of stand, tureen and cover all printed in a soft light blue.
Backstamp: Italian Scenery JM & S.
On the stand there is a little loss of glaze to the stilt marks and a hairline to the side of one handle. The tureen has a small hairline to the rim and several around the foot. The cover has light crazing with some discolouration mainly underneath and a small hairline to the rim and to the ladle cut out. This sounds awful but the faults described are in fact visually minor, this is a superb set.

Soup Tureen c1845

This lovely pattern printed in a pretty pale shade of blue has a delightful floral border decoration, both to the foot and around the inside rim, and a classical Italian scene around the body. There is a little surface scratching inside and a few signs of wear to the handles and rim but overall excellent. Lacking its cover, but a beautiful item on its own. No backstamp, but this is definitely John Meir's Italian Scenery.

Soup Tureen c1845

This lovely pattern printed in a pretty pale shade of blue has the delightful floral border decoration, both to the foot and around the inside of the tureen, and a classical Italian scene around the body. The cover has a Italian scene in the centre surrounded by the pretty floral border, which is inset with four charming vignettes. There is a cut out on the cover for a ladle.
No backstamp, but this is definitely John Meir's Italian Scenery.

The glaze is crazed and has taken up a bit of staining here and there, especially on the handle and there are a couple of tiny bits of grit in the glaze on one side of bowl.
