A stunning large dish in this absolutely fabulous pattern.
Backstamp: Fairy Villas Stone China M & S, for John Meir & Son of Greengates Pottery, Tunstall.
There is a little discolouration to the stilt marks and a firing fault on the front in the curve between the face and rim of the dish. Elsewhere the occasional blemish, overall excellent condition.

Vegetable Dish with Cover c1835
Made by John Meir of Greengates Pottery, Tunstall and not as often attributed in error, by Maddock or Maddock & Seddon. This is a delightful large dish with cover, decorated all over with the popular Fairy Villas design. The outside of the dish has scenic vignettes.
The dish has some light crazing to the glaze, with a little staining inside, and a minor chip under the footrim. The handle on the cover has been off and restuck, but well. On display it all looks fine and is a highly decorative piece.

Lovely dish with moulded side handles, fully patterned inside with pattern cartouches around the outside. Would originally have had a lid.

The occasional minor blemish with a little wear to the outer rim and underneath to the foot.

A beautiful tureen printed in this most attractive pattern.
Backstamp: Fairy Villas Stone China M & s, for John Meir & Son of Greengates Pottery, Tunstall.
There is a little wear underneath to the inner rim of the cover and a little to the tureen rim otherwise really excellent condition.
