Maker: Meigh  Pattern:Asiatic Birds brown
Toy Meat Dish or Platter c1840
The pattern is similar to Asiatic Pheasants, but here printed in brown. The glaze is crazed, with some light staining to rim and back, but overall in good condition. There is no maker's backstamp. In English Toy China by Doris Anderson Lechler this design is attributed to Charles Meigh of Hanley, Staffordshire 1832 to 1850 and we have gone along with that here.
