A lovely early jug with lustre rim and highlights to the handle. This pattern also known as Grasshopper or Grasshopper Japan and more recently renamed Regency.
Backstamp: Mason's Patent Ironstone China and impressed Mason's Patent Ironstone.
A little very very minor discolouration inside otherwise excellent condition.

Bowl c1815
This is an early example of one of Mason's first patterns used on their newly patented ironstone; the rather idiosyncratic India Grasshopper. Here printed in blue with hand painted colour. The pattern is also known as Grasshopper and Grasshopper Japan.
Backstamp: rare early blue printed mark PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA with WARRANTED beneath and no mention of Masons. 10 in red script, which may be the pattern number or the painter's mark.
This bowl is in excellent condition, although it has been well used during its life and there is a small glazing blemish half-way up inside and the colour on the pattern inside the bowl at the base has almost completely worn off. Most of the inner border is in reasonable condition and externally the colours are bright, with little sign of wear.
A wonderful early example of Mason's new ironstone wares.

A lovely very early plate for this pattern which is also known as Grasshopper and Grasshopper Japan. It was later renamed Regency.
Backstamp: Mason's Patent Ironstone China.
A little minor surface scratching and the occasional tiny manufacturing blemish, overall excellent condition.

Backstamp: Ironstone China Warranted.
This plate has surface scratching and some wear and discolouration to the outer rim.
