| Maker: Livesley Powell Pattern:Abbey grey Meat Dish or Platter c1860 A different Abbey pattern from the more common Adams and George Jones version and here printed in grey, typical of Livesley Powell's production of this design, which continued to be made by their successors Powell & Bishop.
This platter has a few glazing blemishes and some crazing to the glaze, of which the latter is mainly on the back and border, and both have taken up a few spots of staining. There is some wear to the rim and back of the platter caused through use during its life of close on 150 years. Overall though this platter is in excellent condition.
Printed cartouche backstamp with Ironstone, Abbey and illegible initials, which are almost certainly L P & Co.
