Sauce Tureen c1845
Samuel Keeling of Market Street Works, Hanley, Staffordshire, active 1838 to 1849. A beautiful sauce tureen with stand and cover, all printed in a rich flow blue. The tureen has ornate moulded side handles and the cover has a pretty decorative finial. Backstamp: on the stand blue printed scroll and palm tree cartouche with Whampoa. Impressed Greek seal lozenge with Improved Stone China and impressed 5. On the tureen impressed Greek seal lozenge with Improved Stone China and impressed 5. Light crazing and the tureen also has a little very minor discolouration inside, otherwise excellent condition.
Dimensions: Tureen 13.5 cm x 11 cm / Tureen 5.25 ins x 4.25 ins at neck
