| Maker: Jones Pattern:British History Series Meat Dish or Platter Battle of Waterloo c1827 Jones & Son of Hanley were only in business from 1826 to 1828, yet are famous for producing a fine series of blue printed scenes in a series called British History. A dramatic border of crowns, bishop's mitres, implements of war and flowers frames the central scene of the Battle of Waterloo.

The glaze is finely crazed, with one small area of very light associated staining, which is barely noticeable. Under the rim a couple of tiny flakes of glaze missing. Overall bright and clean with few signs of use. A magnificent platter with fine battlefield scene of a major moment in British history.
