Maker: Herculaneum  Pattern:Italian Fountain
Meat Dish or Platter c1815
Herculaneum is believed to have introduced this pattern about 1809 and the scene was also used as one of the Named Italian Views made by the Don Pottery. The Herculaneum version is usually called Italian Fountain or Vatican Gardens, as the factory name for it appears unknown. It is rarely found today and mainly associated with a marked plate and spoon rest in the City of Liverpool Museum. No backstamp. Fine all over crazing with a few minor smudges of blue and the stilt marks are fairly prominent, otherwise excellent condition
