Maker: Glamorgan Pottery  Pattern:Castle Gatehouse
Plate c1820
A lovely plate by Baker Bevans and Irwin owners of the Glamorgan Pottery from 1814 to 1838. The pattern is the same as the better known Castle design introduced by Spode in 1806, Castle Gatehouse was in use by 1818 at Gamorgan. Backstamp: Blue printed elaborate scroll Opaque China B B & I and an impressed daisy. Just a touch of minor surface scratching otherwise excellent condition.
