Maker: Ferrybridge Pottery  Pattern:Circled Landscape
Bowl c1800
Lovely footed bowl beautifully patterned both inside and out. It was made at the Ferrybridge Pottery around 1800, when the works were known as Knottingley Pottery and Ralph Wedgwood had his short association with the other partners. The pattern is derived from a Worcester design and is usually known as Circled Landscape, although in reality the scenes are contained within ovals. A rare and lovely piece. No maker's backstamp. Bears paper label for the Doug Godden Collection No 1028. This bowl was described and illustrated on page 2 of the Friends of Blue Bulletin No 136 July 2007. Light crazing with a little minor surface scratching and on the side a small piece of excess clay or grit, otherwise excellent condition.
Dimensions: 18 cm diameter, 9 cm high / 7 ins diameter, 3.5 ins high
