A large platter in their well known Rock Cartouche Series, which here depicts Lancaster the county town of Lancashire. The view includes the castle, St Mary's Church and the town bridge over the River Lune.
Light all over crazing with a little discolouration, mainly around the outside rim and on the back, otherwise excellent condition. A stunning meat dish.

| Maker: Elkin Knight Pattern:Rock Cartouche Series Meat Dish or Platter small Near Patterdale c1825 Elkin and Knight used various partnership styles, but this series is usually attributed to Elkin, Knight & Co of The Foley Potteries, Fenton, Staffordshire. There are about a dozen different views in the series and this one Near Patterdale, appears to be previously unrecorded. Patterdale is a small village on the edge of Ullswater in the English Lake District.
Backstamp: blue printed rock cartouche with NEAR PATTERDALE.
The glaze is sound. There are a few nicks or signs of wear on the rim and a couple of the stilt marks are quite noticeable, but all very minor as this is a most attractive dish in excellent condition. Dimensions: 24.5 x 18.5 cm / 9.5 x 7.25 ins

Crazed with some light discolouration, although this is mainly on the back and a little surface scratching. Dimensions: 26 cm / 10.25 ins

A drainer in their well known Rock Cartouche Series, which here is a view of Lancaster and includes the castle, St Mary's Church and the town bridge over the River Lune. This drainer is crazed with some associated staining, particularly to the back. There is wear around some of the holes, around the central hole and to some of the rim however all this does not really detract from this lovely piece. Dimensions: 32 cm x 23 cm / 12.75 ins x 9 ins
