Dinner Plate c1845
Made by William and Samuel Edge of Market Street, Lane Delph, Fenton this large dinner plate has a gorgeous border of floral and scenic vignettes. The main scene is of an idyllic landscape with a couple gathering a harvest of fruits or perhaps hops. There are hops growing behind them and Humulus is the Latin term for hops. The glaze is finely crazed and there is a minor glaze blemish on the face, otherwise excellent condition. Blue printed cartouche backstamp with Humulus and W & S E.
Dimensions: 28 cm / 11 ins
