| Maker: Davenport Pattern:Number 37 colour Sauce Tureen c1825 Pattern number 37 in Davenport's fine Stone China series, which does not appear to have a name, but is in the Imari style and palette. Beautifully painted with added gilt highlights.
The gilt on the rims is worn and a few general signs of wear. On the tureen a short hairline runs down from one handle, but does not go all the way through. On the cover there is a hairline directly under the finial, which is mainly visible inside, also a small possible star crack, but that does not go through, also a tiny chip on the inner rim. All really minor as with the cover in place and the tureen on the stand you have a perfect display piece.
Typical blue printed backstamp Davenport Stone China with anchor and pattern number 37 in red script.
