Florentine Fountain is a series of various imaginary scenes used on different items. This plate has a crowned figure with a trident as a fountain? set in a highly floral landscape with an ornamented building. The border design is notable for the use of large decorative butterflies. Blue printed cartouche backstamp of a fountain containing the words Florentine Fountain. The glaze is finely crazed and on the back the foot rim has had a couple of minor knocks, but overall lovely plate.
