Platter Pagodas near Barrackpore c1900
A lovely platter with Indian scene within a border of parrots, flowers and fruit! Featured are the Hindoo Pagodas below Barrackpore on the Ganges taken from A Picturesque Tour along the Rivers Ganges and Jumna in India by C R Forrest published 1824. This platter is a reproduction of the original series, believed to have been made by John & William Ridgway. Backstamp: Brown Westhead's Cauldon China England Pagodas near Barrackpore. A little very minor wear on the back to the foot rim otherwise excellent condition.
