Meat Dish or Platter c1835
Made by Samuel and John Burton of Burslem, Staffordshire, who were in business from 1832 to 1845. The pattern name is a given one and it is sometimes known as Lovick's pattern after the Norwich retailer, whose printed backstamp has been recorded on this design. No backstamp. The glaze is crazed with a a small area of minor associated discolouration on the front and outer rim, as part of this at 5 o'clock there is a hairline running in from the rim. There is an area of discolouration on the back. Sounds much worse than it looks, as on display it looks fine and if you don't tell your friends they will admire your beautiful platter.

Comport c1835
A beautiful, unusual rectangular dessert comport raised on a generous foot. The pattern is a bold floral design printed in a darkish blue and includes a large vase, butterflies and a bird. Made by Samuel and John Burton of Burslem, Staffordshire, who were in business from 1832 to 1845. The pattern name is a given one and it is sometimes known as Lovick's pattern after the Norwich retailer, whose printed backstamp has been recorded on this design. No maker's backstamp as is typical with this pattern. The glaze is finely crazed and there are hints of wear and use here and there, but it still shines brightly and is in excellent condition.

Soup Ladle c1835
A magnificent large soup ladle. The pattern is a bold floral design printed in a darkish blue and includes a large vase, butterflies and a bird. Made by Samuel and John Burton of Burslem, Staffordshire, who were in business from 1832 to 1845. The pattern name is a given one and it is sometimes known as Lovick's pattern after the Norwich retailer, whose printed backstamp has been recorded on this design. No maker's backstamp as is typical with this pattern. The glaze is finely crazed and there are a few signs of wear on the top of the handle, but otherwise in lovely condition, almost as new.

This plate is by Samuel and John Burton of Burslem, Staffordshire, who were in business from 1832 to 1845. The pattern name is a given one and it is sometimes known as Lovick's pattern after the Norwich retailer. No backstamp. A little minor wear to rim, but a superb example of this bold and decorative floral design.

Drainer c1835
Pretty floral design with Asiatic bird and butterfly, printed in pale blue. Sometimes known as Lovick's pattern, as previously the only marked pieces had the printed retailers mark "Lovick's China & Glass Emporium, Norwich". This drainer has the impressed mark "S & J B" on reverse, for Samuel & John Burton, Hanley, Staffordshire, active 1832-1845 and is the first piece found with the makers mark. As such it is now recorded by the Friends of Blue and Transferware Collectors Club. Three old rim chips and light crazing. Looks better than it reads!

Gorgeous shell shape dessert dish with moulded and decorated side handle and all on a generous foot rim. An absolute delight. The pattern is a bold floral design printed in a darkish blue and includes a large vase, butterflies and a bird. Made by Samuel and John Burton of Burslem, Staffordshire, who were in business from 1832 to 1845. The pattern name is a given one and it is sometimes known as Lovick's pattern after the Norwich retailer, whose printed backstamp has been recorded on this design. No maker's backstamp as is typical with this pattern. A little fine crazing to the glaze here and there, a few utensil marks and a little wear to the rim from use, otherwise almost as new, shiny and bright.
