Platter small c1855
A delightful small platter, half of the pattern printed one way and the other half the other! Made by Joseph Burn & Co of the Stepney Bank Pottery, Ouseburn, Tyneside, who was active 1851 to 1860 and used a backstamp similar to the much larger and better known Fell & Co. Backstamp: blue printed Newcastle Arms with Stone Ware and B & Co in ribbon beneath. A little minor surface scratching otherwise excellent condition.
