William Brownfield and Sons. Lovely ewer with scene of the lady hanging out her washing surrounded by chickens. The scene continues around the ewer with a walled city in the background. There is a chip to the foot rim of 0.5 inch otherwise fine. A most unusual piece. Blue printed backstamp WB & S, Medieval. Registered design lozenge for 7 February 1877 and impressed Brownfield, plus date January 1878.
