Made by Zachariah Boyle of Hanley and Stoke active 1823 to 1850. The pattern on this large jug or pitcher is the well-known Antique Scenery Series, although the location of this particular scene of a family amongst cows before a river, with a castle, ruin and village behind has not been identified. No maker's backstamp.

Made by Zachariah Boyle of Hanley and Stoke active 1823 to 1850. The series consists mainly of views of castles and abbeys. This view of Craigmillar Castle Edinburgh. Backstamp: Antique Scenery Craigmillar Castle Edinburgh. The face of the dish has surface scratching with just a little pitting and a little very minor discolouration. To the outer rim and on the back there is some discolouration but overall this is a lovely dish.

Made by Zachariah Boyle of Hanley and Stoke active 1823 to 1850. The Antique Scenery Series consists mainly of views of castles and abbeys, this one is of St Albans Abbey, Hertfordshire. Backstamp: Antique Scenery St Albans Abbey, Hertfordshire. This gorgeous platter has clearly had quite a life! It has light crazing, the surface is scratched and there is wear to the inner and outer rims. On the back there are a few minor manufacturing blemishes and a little discolouration.

Soup Tureen Caister & Kirkstall Abbey c1825
Made by Zachariah Boyle of Hanley and Stoke active 1823 to 1850. The Antique Scenery Series consists mainly of views of castles and abbeys. This is stunning! A fabulous large lidded tureen complete with beautiful ladle and stand, with Kirkstall Abbey, Yorkshire, is on the stand and inside the tureen and Caister Castle Norfolk on the outside of the tureen. The tureen lid is so very ornate with embossed oak leaf and acorn detail surrounding the superbly detailed finial. Backstamps: Antique Scenery Kirkstall Abbey Yorkshire & Antique Scenery Caister Castle Norfolk. Underneath the stand to the foot there is a hairline and a small chip. The tureen has a few minor blemishes and minor signs of age, otherwise excellent condition. The ladle stem has a little crazing and minor wear with small blemish to the tip and a little minor wear underneath. Underneath the lid there is a little minor wear. Overall this is a really beautiful set.

Made by Zachariah Boyle of Hanley and Stoke active 1823 to 1850. The Antique Scenery Series consists mainly of views of castles and abbeys, this one is of Beeston Priory Norfolk. Backstamp: Antique Scenery Beeston Priory Norfolk. A little crazing and on the back some discolouration to the foot rim.

Made by Zachariah Boyle of Hanley and Stoke active 1823 to 1850, the Antique Scenery Series depicts around 20 different landscape views, mainly of castles and ecclesiastical buildings. This is a gorgeous small ladle with pattern inside the bowl and along the stem. No backstamp. There is a little wear to the bowl rim and to part of the stem. Also to the tip of the stem is a tiny amount of excess glaze.

Made by Zachariah Boyle of Hanley and Stoke active 1823 to 1850. The Antique Scenery Series depicts around 20 different landscape views, mainly of castles and ecclesiastical buildings. Here is a scene of Melrose Abbey, Roxburghshire, Scotland, founded as a monastery of the Cistercian order in 1136, although it was almost totally rebuilt after 1385, when the buildings were severely damaged in an attack by Richard II of England. The Abbey is believed to be the burial place of the heart of Robert the Bruce. Backstamp: Antique Scenery Melrose Abbey, Roxburghshire.

This fabulous view is of Cathedral Church of Glasgow, which dates from the 12th Century and in the foreground women doing their washing in the river. No backstamp. Light all over crazing with a little discolouration otherwise excellent condition.
