Meat Dish or Platter c1860
A gorgeous small platter printed in a very pale blue. Made by J & MB Bell of the Glasgow Pottery. Backstamp: A bell surrounded by laurel leaves - a little indistinct. A little surface scratching with some wear on the back. There is also a little loss of glaze to two of the stilt marks and a very small area of some minor brown spotting. Sounds awful, looks lovely!
Dimensions: 28 cm x 22 cm / 11 ins x 8.75 ins

Meat Dish or Platter c1860
By J & MP Bell & Co. of Glasgow, Scotland. The design is printed in a good strong blue. There has been a knock to the rim leaving a large unsprung rim chip at 6 o'clock, visible on close inspection and the glaze is crazed, with just a touch of staining. Fine as a display piece from a collected Scottish pottery.
Dimensions: 38 cm x 31 cm / 15 ins x 12.25 ins

Lunch Plate c1860
Printed backstamp crown over bell, in laurel leaves, with J & MP B & Co for J and M P Bell and Co of Glasgow, Scotland. The largest and probably most famous Scottish pottery. Glaze crazed, a few tiny light stains, a small rim hairline about 0.25 ins on back, otherwise bright and clean.
Dimensions: 23 cm / 9 ins
