Dinner Plate c1825
William Adams of Stoke. This pattern is sometimes known as Thatched Cottage. Charming rural scene set within rock and foliage border printed in the dark blue favoured by the American export market. On the back, some minor glazing faults occurred during manufacture and there is a small chip to the foot rim. The face has a few utensil marks, the glaze is sound and bright, and overall this plate is in superb condition. Impressed backstamp Adams Warranted Staffordshire round a crown. Provenance: on back are labels for Pulver Exhibition of Blue Printed Pottery, Church House Farm Museum September 7th 1974 and Anthony Bunce Collection 331.
